- Tozai Games（旧アイレム系）が開発する横スクロールシューティング。1993 年のスーパーファミコン作品「R-TYPE III THE THIRD LIGHTNING」を 3D グラフィックでフルリメイクした内容で、海外版が PS5 / Steam 向けに先行配信中
- PlayStation 公式 YouTube がローンチトレーラーを海外先行公開、収録機体「フォース」3 タイプ（Round / Shadow / Cyclone）とレーザー 9 種をフィーチャー
- 3D 描画とオリジナルの 2D ドット描画をボタン一つで切り替える機能を搭載、難度を抑えたインフィニティモードと 2 人協力プレイにも対応
- 日本版は 6 月 18 日に Nintendo Switch 2 / Switch / PS5 向けで発売予定、価格 5,940 円（Switch 2 版は 6,930 円）。限定版にはアートブックとサウンドトラック CD 2 枚組が同梱

同じ指摘でスレ立てようとしてた。本来「R-Type III Dimensions」と呼ぶべきだろう。SFC 版 R-TYPE III のリメイクなんだから、こっちが正しい名前のはずだ
I was going to start a thread with the exact same point. The game should be called R-Type III Dimensions. Given that it’s a remake of the SNES R-Type III, that should be the correct name.
Irem は R-Type III の完全なソースコードを持ってないんだろう、だから今の開発者は一から作り直さないといけない。QOL パッチを地道に当て続けてくれることを願う
I assume Irem doesn’t have the full source code for R-Type III, so the current devs have to remake it from scratch. Hope they slowly add quality of life patches.

好きなように名付けさせてやれ、別にいいだろう。技術的には PS 版 R-Type Final 3 Evolved でも設定で名前の表記を変えられる。製作側も人によって表記の好みが違うのは分かってる
Let them name their games in the absurd. It will be okay. Hell, technically R-Type Final 3 Evolved on PS lets you change the way the name is in the settings. So they know some want it to be different.

これはポートですらない。スプライトを見て手作業で復元しようとして失敗した感じだ。これじゃ R-Type Final 2 が史上最高の R-Type に見えてくる

今のところ買わない。売り方に対して値段が高すぎる。元の R-Type Dimensions は R-Type 1 と 2 が入って 15 ドルだったのに、今回は 1 本だけで 30 ドル要求してくる

/r/shmups でボロカスに言われてる。元のゲームで十分なのに、なぜ毎回こうしてクラシック作品の手抜きリメイクを繰り返すのか正直分からない
This is getting roasted over on /r/shmups. I honestly don’t know why they keep doing lazy rehashes of these classic games when it’s almost always agreed that the original games are fine as they are.

原作の SFC 版「R-TYPE III THE THIRD LIGHTNING」が出てから 30 年以上経った末のフルリメイクで、ファンの期待値は最初から高い 1 本だった。前作「R-Type Dimensions I & II」の移植が安定していたぶん、今回のリメイク版に対しては比較対象がはっきりしている。日本版は 6 月 18 日に Switch 2 / Switch / PS5 で出るので、海外版で挙がっている挙動の指摘がそこに間に合うかが気になるところ。
